ANNANDALE ARTIST STUDIO

The project is an attempt use the neighborhood vernacular and incorporate sustainable elements on a tight budget. The main house occupies the middle of the lot and the studio fills the rear setback. The studio reaches a 3-star rating under the City of Austin Green Building Program.
Sustainable features: Studio to work at home, 2x6 framing for increased wall insulation, Use of recycled wood doors, Mesquite Hardwood Floors or Sealed Concrete, Low-E windows, HVAC insulated ducts within Radiant Barrier Attic Space, Existing trees retained to supplement shading from eaves, High efficiency and properly sized AC system with Separate Workarea and ventilation system for Hazardous or Toxic Chemicals.
1320 sq.ft. Studio and work area, 480 sq.ft. garage. Completed 2002.
